CHL 610 – Biblical Theology of Leadership

This course surveys Biblical texts in search of a theological foundation for understanding Christian leadership. A theology of leadership begins with a study of God as ‘leader’, initiator, and primary agent. Special focus is given to Proverbs, Jeremiah, Matthew, Acts, and Ephesians providing a framework for critical reflection and application of leadership principles in ministry contexts. A Biblical theology of leadership pays primary attention to God’s leadership and then evaluates how to use leadership principles and practices to participate with God’s activity.
